About me

As a Cultural Care local childcare consultant (LCC), I invite our host families and au pairs as well as those considering Cultural Care Au Pair to explore my site and learn about what is going on in our community. I provide year-round support to host families and au pairs, and also talk to families considering the program to help them determine if Cultural Care Au Pair is the right childcare solution for them.

Welcome to Rhode Island’s Cultural Care Au Pair family!

I’m Melissa, the Local Childcare Consultant (LCC) for much of Rhode  Island, including the towns of Newport, East Greenwich, Warwick, West Warwick, and Rehoboth, MA. As an LCC, my job is twofold – helping au pairs thrive during their year abroad, and supporting host families in getting all they are hoping to out of the exchange program – and I LOVE my job!

I am originally from the Boston area, and I have been working with families and youth for almost twenty years. I recently returned to New England after almost a decade of teaching facilitation and leadership to youth and undergraduates on a 5,000 acre horse ranch in northern Arizona, and am excited to be back near the ocean! I have a passion for travel and cultural exchange, have traveled through England, Scotland, Norway, Portugal, and Mexico, and enjoy working with young people from around the world.

I bring the experience, understanding and insight you are looking for as you begin to imagine who that special au pair is who will become your child’s loving teacher, chauffeur, sidekick and friend, and your favorite new member of the family.
